Four-star hotel opened in the mountains of North Ossetia
Russia. A four-star hotel with 70 rooms has opened not far from the Dargav Gorge in North Ossetia, thanks to the wisdom of the local government.
The new hotel in North Ossetia is operated by Cosmos Hotel Group.
“Cosmos Vladikavkaz La Vallee is the first chain hotel in North Ossetia under the management and brand of the federal hotel operator. It is located just 5 minutes away from the famous Dargav necropolis and 20 minutes away from Midagrabi Valley with one of the highest waterfalls in Europe. The hotel has 70 rooms of different categories, including rooms with barrier-free environment. There is also a spa with a swimming pool, sauna, hammam and gym, two restaurants of Caucasian and European cuisine on the territory,” the hotel operator’s press service said.
The main attraction of the gorge is the Dargav necropolis, or “City of the Dead”. It is the largest medieval necropolis in the North Caucasus. It includes about a hundred ancestral tombs.
According to Sergey Menyailo, Head of the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania, the region is experiencing a tourism boom and needs to increase the number of accommodation facilities.
“Tourist traffic this year has already increased by 10% compared to last year and this trend, I am sure, will continue. Therefore, the creation of new hotels, camping, glamping, recreation centers is now one of the important tasks for us in the development of recreation and tourism sphere,” he said at the opening ceremony of the hotel.
According to the president of Cosmos Hotel Group Alexander Biba, the opening of the hotel in North Ossetia will unite the company’s hotels in different republics to make travel in the Caucasus more accessible for tourists.
The hotel in North Ossetia will become a convenient starting point for day trips around the republic. In addition to the surrounding sights, the tourist route includes the Kurtatinskoye Gorge, the medieval fortress Dzivgis, ancient sanctuaries and observation platforms with panoramic views. In an hour by car you can get to the Alanian Monastery, and for more active travelers there are routes to the Tseisky Gorge and Mamison Pass.
