Treatment of cardiovascular diseases

Elista A new step in the treatment of cardiovascular diseases in the mysterious Kalmykia (South of Russia).

The Republican Hospital named after P.P. Zhemchuev successfully introduced an innovative medical method – percutaneous coronary interventions using intravascular ultrasound.

Not all federal clinics in Russia have modern medical equipment, so its appearance in Kalmykia was a real breakthrough.

The medical device helps to look inside the vessels, showing the smallest details of their condition – blood clots, atherosclerotic plaques, aneurysms, endothelial ruptures or vascular wall dissection.

This not only increases the accuracy of diagnosis, but also helps to choose the optimal treatment tactics. The method is actively used in cardiology and vascular surgery.

Number of percutaneous coronary interventions

Head of the regional vascular center of the republican hospital Svetlana Nasunova reported: “We perform about 500 percutaneous coronary interventions per year, almost 30-40% of them require such a study. These are not full-fledged surgical operations, but an instrumental examination that allows us to identify the optimal treatment tactics and observe the dynamics of the health restoration process.”

The use of new medical technology provides high accuracy in determining the necessary treatment, and low trauma allows patients to return to normal life the next day.
